Global Retailer Modernizes ERP Application

The Customer

The client is world leader in the creation and distribution of extraordinarily effective personal care products with an emphasis on skin care. Founded in 1984, the client has expanded into more than 30 markets worldwide with products being sold one-to-one by over 500,000 active distributors. They offer exclusive treatment products for the face and a variety of high-quality personal care products for the skin and hair. They also offer the opportunity for their customers to share their extraordinary products with others for which they provide generous compensation and professional support.

Application Description

An ERP application developed in-house to perform the business activities of the client in Taiwan.

ERP System

Enterprise Resources Planning System deals with the business activities and information processing in their Taiwan branch. The ERP application can be categorized mainly into three sub modules:

Finance

Finance Module deals with Sales order Regular process activities, Business partner’s information processing, Business partners banking information and Distributor account information

Product management

Product management deals with the product class listing, product selling status entry, Loyalty Credit Payment process.

Order processing

OP deals with areas such as the customer master, order entry, order payment, order fulfillment and order returns functional areas. Within these areas, it identifies Taiwan OP functional requirements, distinguishing between core and country-specific. It defines interface points for the country-specific functionality hooking into the core functions. It also defines OP interface requirements from external systems, such as PM/FI. It also identifies Taiwan’s OP user process flow.

Problem Description

This conversion / turnkey solution concentrates on making application modern. Modern applications must make themselves useful and intuitive to the end user. The client wanted to move their entire application to the GUI environment. Also they wanted move their application to web. Minor enhancements need to be done to the migrated application.

Kumaran Services

This project is unique of its kind because it is in Chinese character set. All client machines should be set with Chinese language OS and all the three tiers should be set to Chinese character sets.

Migration Process

Object*Converter 6i, migrates Oracle FormsV4.5/5.0/6.0/6i application to Oracle Forms V6.0/6i application with the implementation of Forms6/6i power-packed features and also makes sure the migrated application functionality remains same.

OBJECT*Converter adheres to the salient features of ORACLE Developer Forms 6i and provides easy means of migration for an end user with the help of user-friendly interface. OBJECT*Converter retains the Design, Logic and upgrades the PL/SQL of the migrated application.
